The U.S. Supreme Court has declared flag burning (of
one's own flag) to be political speech protected by the
First Ammendment. But this hasn't stopped the Republican
congressional leadership from trying again and again to ammend
the U.S. Constitution to make flag burning illegal. They should be
trying to come to grips with some of the serious problems of
our time.
